Bartenders prepare mixed drinks, serve bottled or draft beer and pour wine or other beverages. You should know a wide range of drink recipes and be able to mix accurately and quickly without waste. You will also need to keep the bar stocked and prepare garnishes for drinks and maintain a supply of ice, glasses and other bar supplies. You may also serve food for a guest who dines at the bar. You should be very approachable; therefore, always smiling making the guests feel welcome and comfortable. As a bus boy you are a vital part of this restaurant. How quickly you clear a table and reset-up will make a difference on how many guests will dine with us. How well you do this will make a difference on how many guests will return! You are an important part of the support team. Your job is to make sure orders are presented properly on plates and served hot and timely. As a host, your position is one of importance. You are a valuable asset to the restaurant in that you make the initial contact and have contact throughout the guests' meal; as well as, make the last contact with they are leaving. Because of your contact with our guests, your attitude and appearance will influence the way they regard their dining experience at Gaido's. There are four main positions you have as a host: greeter, floor runner, seater and circulator. As a Gaido's server, you will enjoy many of the same opportunities that you would get at other restaurants. However, there are differences that you should take into consideration. The biggest difference is that we believe that our servers should spend as much time on the dining room floor as possible in order to be there for their guests. We employ food runners to assist and we also help make sure that any side work can be done from the dining room. Another consideration should be that our check averages are above $30 per person. Combined with the service you will provide, this can lead to larger tips than most other similar restaurants. |
